Lola Porras Quintela

You might think our world has gone mad.
We thought the same, until we decided to do something different.
We left it all behind and set out to find our little slice of heaven in the Far North.
A little house, a vegetable patch, going fishing and picking blueberries in the woods.
And writing... becoming storytellers.
Spending our twilight years trying to bring happiness to everyone around us.
Because there’s nothing better than a good story to lift the spirits and warm the heart.
About us

We’re just two people who, thirty years ago, realised we’d rather be together than apart.
And nothing else matters.
We’ve faced many challenges, many wonderful moments, stormy nights, sunny days and early mornings spent writing stories.
And we’re happy chatting to the robins... and the wolves.
Oh, and Odin’s ravens come to visit us every day...
Flavia's world

One day, whilst I was watching Lola draw a picture for a project we were working on in Portugal, I said to her... ‘Why don’t we write a children’s story?’
She looked at me with a smile and said... ‘Go on, let’s do it.’
And so we created Flavia’s World.
And honestly, it’s one of the best things we’ve ever done.
Flavia has become our best friend...
And we hope she becomes someone who brings joy to your children... and to you.
The Seidkona

I’ve spent half my life treating cancer patients.
And I’d talk to them about treatments, surgery, chemotherapy...
But I didn’t talk to them about hope.
Because without hope, there is no life.
So we created this novel for them, to tell them everything I didn’t dare say to them in person.
The Seidkona is the tribute we dedicate to them.
Love, friendship and willpower are the best way to ensure we don’t forget who we are, and perhaps the best treatment for cancer.
Lola Porras' Blog

Lola and I believe that a blog is a way of sharing our thoughts and ideas with you, including little literary pieces that didn’t make it into our books.
We hope it brings you moments of joy and peace, and perhaps even inspires you to see the world in a different light.
